Rebranding

Rebranding

Throughout the tenure of the TFL, there have been 3 rebrands (Seasons 18, 20, & 21).

Season 18

Hawaii Warriors → Hawaii Tikis

Reason for Change: The Warriors were a pretty bad franchise, and the name was too similar to the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors.

Season 20

Delaware Destroyers → Delaware Admirals

Reason for Change: The Destroyers were a relatively new franchise, but they never had more than 6 wins. The color scheme was also too bland (grey and black) and was already in use by two teams (Ironmen & Wings). The Admirals' name is more closely tied to Delaware, with colonial roots and as the First State.

Season 21

Alabama Razorbacks → Alabama Crusaders

Reason for Change: The Razorbacks had been winning the division and lots of games leading up to their rebrand, but the name is too closely related to the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. The team debated many name options, but settled for Crusaders.
