Season 18 introduced the first official franchise rebrand in TFL history. Along with expanding the Pro Bowl once again, the season marked a new era of franchise branding as the league's first AI-designed logos debuted.
For the first time in league history, a franchise officially changed its team name.
The Hawaii Warriors rebranded as the Hawaii Tikis, becoming the first organization to adopt a new identity while retaining its existing franchise history.
The change was made for two primary reasons. First, the Warriors had struggled to establish sustained success on the field, making the offseason an appropriate opportunity to refresh the franchise's identity. Second, the name "Warriors" closely resembled the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors, and the new Tikis identity provided a more distinctive brand while embracing imagery closely associated with Hawaiian culture.
As with all future TFL rebrands, only the franchise's name and visual identity changed. Every record, championship, playoff appearance, award, and player remained part of the same franchise history.
Season 18 also expanded the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive year.
Each conference added:
1 Linebacker (8 → 9)
This increased the number of Pro Bowl selections from 114 to 116, resulting in 58 Pro Bowlers per conference.
The adjustment better reflected the importance and depth of the linebacker position across the expanding league.
Season 18 introduced brand-new primary logos for two franchises:
Hawaii Tikis
Seattle Scorpions
These logos represented another milestone in TFL history, as they became the first franchise logos designed with the assistance of ChatGPT rather than Placeit. This marked the beginning of a new era of logo creation, providing greater creative flexibility and allowing for more unique franchise identities than had previously been possible.
