Darren Waller was one of the premier tight ends of the TFL's first two decades, building a reputation as an explosive receiving threat and one of the league's most dependable offensive weapons. Across 16 seasons, he totaled 110 receiving touchdowns, earned nine Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro honors, and was named Tight End of the Year in Season 2. His dominance also earned him a spot on the TFL Seasons 1–10 All-Decade Team.

Waller began his career with the Carolina Claws, where he spent the first eight seasons and developed into a franchise cornerstone. He helped lead Carolina to an NFC Championship appearance before signing with the Tampa Bay Waves in Season 9. His move to Tampa elevated his career even further, as he became a key piece of three consecutive AFC Championship teams and won back-to-back Super Bowls (XIII and XIV), cementing his legacy as one of the league's elite tight ends.

Following Tampa Bay's championship run, Waller retired after Season 14 as one of the most accomplished players at his position. After four seasons away from football, he made a surprising comeback in Season 19, reuniting with his former Waves quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, on the Seattle Scorpions for one final run.

Although his return didn't add to his championship résumé, it provided a memorable final chapter for one of the TFL's all-time greats. Waller's combination of elite production, postseason success, and an unexpected comeback made him one of the defining tight ends of the league's first 20 seasons.
