Eric Kendricks was one of the most consistent and technically sound linebackers of the league’s first eighteen seasons, known for his range, instincts, and ability to anchor a defense no matter the scheme. Drafted in the 3rd round of the inaugural Season 1 Draft by the Carolina Claws, he immediately became a reliable starter and team leader, helping guide a young roster through its foundational years before moving on to larger roles elsewhere.

Kendricks reached his peak production during his time with the Atlanta Pumas from Season 4 to Season 7, where he earned two Pro Bowl selections and became one of the most respected defensive players in the conference. His ability to diagnose plays, create timely stops, and serve as the centerpiece of Atlanta’s defense made him a franchise cornerstone. After short stops with the Houston Rustlers and later the St. Louis Rebels, Kendricks again earned league recognition — securing a third Pro Bowl while helping St. Louis reach the postseason for the only time in his career.

He closed his career with the Detroit Phantoms in Seasons 16 through 18, providing veteran leadership and stability to an emerging defensive unit.
