Running Back
Season 1 - Season 15
James Robinson, a smooth and dependable running back, enjoyed a 15-season career in the TFL, suiting up for seven franchises: the Dallas Warhawks (Seasons 1–2), Kansas City Badgers (Seasons 3–7), New York Howlers (Seasons 8–9), Los Angeles Stars (Seasons 10–11), Denver Horns (Season 12), Philadelphia Generals (Season 13), and Seattle Scorpions (Seasons 14–15). He was a consistent offensive weapon early in his career before transitioning into a backup role during his final six seasons.
Robinson was signed by the Dallas Warhawks ahead of Season 1 and joined the Kansas City Badgers in Season 3, where he blossomed into a premier back. He earned Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and helped lead the Badgers to an NFC title and Super Bowl III championship. Robinson later signed with the New York Howlers in Season 8, and in Season 10, he was traded to the Los Angeles Stars in a blockbuster deal. From that point forward, he shifted into a rotational and backup role with his remaining teams.
Robinson totaled 90 touchdowns—78 rushing and 12 receiving—averaging 6 touchdowns per season. He posted 4 seasons with double-digit touchdowns, including one 15+ touchdown campaign, and recorded 10 games with multiple scores.
Despite his late-career shift, Robinson remained a valuable presence on winning teams. He played on 10 teams that finished .500 or better, made 8 playoff appearances, won 4 division titles, and was part of Super Bowl-winning squads in Seasons III and XI. Reliable and adaptable, Robinson built a career marked by balance, longevity, and success on the football field.
