Defensive End
Season 1 - Season 20
Joey Bosa was one of the greatest defensive players in TFL history, combining elite pass-rushing ability with remarkable longevity across a 20-season career. Originally selected by the Washington Liberty with the 37th overall pick in the Season 1 Inaugural Draft, Bosa spent his first seven seasons in Washington before being traded to the Boston Bones before Season 8. He remained the centerpiece of Boston's defense through Season 19 before spending his final season with the Anchorage Avalanche, retiring after Season 20.
From the beginning of his career, Bosa established himself as one of the league's premier defensive ends. He earned 12 Pro Bowl selections, including seven with Washington and five with Boston, while adding an incredible 11 All-Pro honors, a testament to his sustained dominance. He was twice named Washington Liberty Player of the Year, once earned the same honor with Boston, and was recognized on the TFL Seasons 1–10 All-Decade Team, cementing his legacy as one of the defining defensive players of the league's first era.
Although defensive statistics are limited in the TFL record books, Bosa still recorded two career safeties, with his true impact extending far beyond the stat sheet. His relentless pressure, ability to disrupt opposing offenses, and leadership made him the cornerstone of every defense he played on for two decades.
Bosa's teams consistently contended for championships throughout his career. He finished with 16 winning seasons, 14 playoff appearances, and seven division titles. After falling short in his first three AFC Championship Game appearances, he finally broke through in Season 17, leading the Boston Bones to their first conference title with him before capturing Super Bowl XVII, the lone championship of his illustrious career. Following 12 productive seasons in Boston, he signed with Anchorage for one final season before retiring as one of the most accomplished and respected defensive ends the TFL has ever seen.
