Matt Prater played 18 TFL seasons from Season 1 through Season 18. He began with the New York Flames for two seasons, spent Seasons 3–16 with the Carolina Claws, and returned to New York for his final two seasons.

Prater earned 1 Pro Bowl and 1 All-Pro selection. He also won an NFC Championship with Carolina in Season 4, helping the Claws reach the Super Bowl.

He made 427 field goals over his career, averaging 23.7 field goals per season. His 14-season stretch with Carolina accounts for the large majority of his career.

Prater’s teams finished .500 or better 10 times and made the playoffs 10 times. He won five division titles and went 1–1 in NFC Championship Games and 0–1 in the Super Bowl.
