Class of Season 20
Quarterback
Season 1 - Season 8
Matt Ryan, a Super Bowl champion and one of the most consistent quarterbacks of the TFL’s early era, was selected in the first round of the Season 1 Inaugural Draft by the Atlanta Pumas (Pick 26). Known for his pocket presence, accuracy, and calm leadership, Ryan spent all eight of his TFL seasons with the Pumas (Seasons 1–8), becoming the face of the franchise during its most successful run.
Ryan helped deliver Atlanta’s first championship in Season 2, and he later returned to the title stage in Season 5, finishing his career as a two-time NFC Conference Champion. Throughout his career, Ryan was selected to three Pro Bowls and was named Atlanta Pumas Player of the Year four times.
Statistically, Ryan threw for 241 passing touchdowns and added 3 rushing touchdowns, totaling 244 touchdowns across eight seasons—averaging 30.5 per year. He logged four seasons with 30 or more touchdowns and recorded 30 games with at least three touchdowns, including six with four touchdowns.
Ryan helped guide the Pumas to eight winning seasons and five playoff appearances. He led Atlanta to five division titles, advanced to four NFC Championship Games, and posted a 2–2 record in those contests. In Super Bowl play, he went 1–1, with the championship victory in Season 2 cementing his legacy.
Matt Ryan’s unwavering presence, statistical consistency, and championship success made him one of the foundational quarterbacks of the TFL.
