Tyrod Taylor, a steady dual-threat quarterback, played ten seasons in the TFL and suited up for four franchises: the Tampa Bay Waves (Seasons 1–2), Detroit Phantoms (Seasons 3–7), Baltimore Gunners (Season 8), and San Francisco Earthquakes (Seasons 9–10). While he began his career as a starting QB, his role gradually shifted to a mix of backup duties and spot starts over the years.

Taylor was signed in Season 1 by the Tampa Bay Waves, where he immediately earned the starting job. In Season 3, he joined the Detroit Phantoms and quickly replaced Drew Lock as the team’s starting quarterback. He was later benched in Season 7 in favor of Jameis Winston and would never regain a full-time starting role. During Seasons 8 through 10, Taylor remained a reliable veteran presence, starting only a few games in relief while mentoring younger quarterbacks.
